It’s only appropriate that our first milestone, our 10th release, will be from one of our main folks that has helped brand the funked-out sound of Frite Nite, and has been instrumental in putting our crew on the map worldwide. In February we’ll be dropping B. Bravo’s Computa Love EP, his second official solo FTNT release.
We’ve been teasing with this one for a bit, we’ve had the epic title track circulating the past few months and it has garnered Bravo some major attention. Bravo’s formula of analog mono-synths, MPC drum sampling and inspiration spawned by the funk and soul of past decades and the future sounds of the UK underground, is further perfected on his second EP. The world reknown Benji B. played cuts from Bravo’s Analog Starship release on his Deviation show on BBC1, but it was the white label of Computa Love that made his ‘Best Of 2009′ show this past December. We’re stoked to be finally releasing this gem to the public.
If you’ve ever watched one of the amazing Red Bull Music Academy lectures, (check one of our favorites: Arthur Baker) you’ll know how excited we are that B. Bravo was accepted into the Academy this year, on location in London, UK. RBMA only chooses 60 individuals worldwide to participate each year, from a very wide selection of arts and interests — everything from singers to audio engineers, and each year it’s held in a different location. This is a launchpad for a lot of the heavy-touring DJs and post-modern musicians the past few years, so we know this will only help bring Bravo to the next level.

While he’s in London, Bravo will be hitting some other European cities on tour for his new releases. We’ll have show information in our calendar and we’ll be posting updates on the friedhuman blog. Next we’ll be dropping his collaborative single with Chicago’s classy funk n’ rap outfit The Gent$, which is going to raise the bar even higher for those creating electro-soul music.
